This album is an exploration, reflection and response to being overwhelmed with life, girls, the local music scene, drugs, love, death, friendship and living in the moment. Eric wrote most of the songs around two years ago and they were his first in his ever growing portfolio. He is very happy to finally acquire a good group of guys and get these tunes out there!
The meaning behind the title of the album is that: upon review of all the tracks, we realized that almost all these songs followed this "formula" throughout the records entirety (verse, chorus, verse, bridge, ridiculous guitar solo, quiet verse, Big chorus). The songs also deal withy a variety of concepts that all relate to the uncertainty and forsaken feelings of early adulthood in Orange County or a "formula" so-to-speak for failure, or success.
The recording process took a total 5 day sessions. The first part was the live tracking of the bass, drums and rhythm guitar at a rehearsal room in Lake Forest. We cranked out all 8 tracks in the time we rented the room (3 hours!!!). The rest of the tracks or overdubs were recorded in the ever-so-roomy bedroom of Isaiah Rolow. We would like to thank his wonderful landlord Karen for allowing that to happen and Rob from Stage One for hooking us up with all the mic stands for the live tracking!
We would like to thank Isaiah Rolow for his countless hours of time and dedication to making this record possible. It would have not been possible without him. He is the man and is an awesome friend to have on this journey!
We hope you enjoy these songs and take something away from them chances you can relate. Thank you for listening!! Be good to one another!
